Pregnancy Update: 20 Weeks

20 weeks down, 20 weeks to go!

This pregnancy is really starting to fly by. I realized this week that I only have a little over 3 months of work left before my leave starts (early August). Trip list for the Summer: Orange County for Mother's Day with Sean & Lando, one last trip to Ireland in early June, then Puerto Rico for Sarah's Bachelorette party in July. After that, this Mama is grounded!  I am also super excited to shoot TWO weddings this Summer! One in May and one in June!

Landon is Getting a Little Brother

Tonight after dinner Sean pulled Landon aside to show him the images from our 20 week ultrasound and to tell him that the baby in Mama's belly is a boy. Precious moment, stored in my memory forever, and captured with a snap of my smartphone for everyone else to enjoy.

Real Talk Between 2 Toddlers

Sean overheard this conversation go down during breakfast at Landon's school yesterday:

Landon: I have my baseball shirt
Braden: I don't have a baseball shirt.
Landon: Maybe your mommy buy you one
Braden: Maybe...I ask her today

Pregnancy Update: 18 Weeks

Baby G2 has decided to take it easy on me since I hit week 16 of pregnancy. Bye-bye nausea, hello growing belly! I'm feeling so much better, and have enjoyed the extra comfort since trading in my jeans for maternity jeans and loose dresses! Haven't felt any movement or kicks yet, but I know it is just a few days away. We find out if Landon is getting a brother or a sister on April 17th, at our 20 week appointment. We'll be sure to share the exciting news as soon as we can!

Landon is Two and a Half!

So, I've been telling people that Landon is "two and a half" when asked, for the last 4 months or so. I think it is he is so big, and folks just assume he's older...so, I've been rounding up. Finally, today April 2, he is officially 2.5! Guess it is time to start saying he is "almost three"!

Rather than try to rack my brain for the latest updates on our little man, I decided to take a different approach: I interviewed him at the dinner table tonight. I suppose it may have been more entertaining if I had recorded the interview and published a video, but this small transcript will have to do:

Earthquakes!!!

I (Sean) took Lando to his first professional sports game last night beyond the baseball games in the baby bjorn. We went to the Earthquakes vs. Toluca CONCACAF Champions League game. He did great at the game! Listened so well and had a blast.

At about the 20 minute mark, the seats around us filled in with Toluca fans (mexico). The whistles and yelling amped up immensely from there. There was a lot of yelling and singing in spanish which I think confused him. He lasted another 10 or 15 minutes...at which point he told me he wanted to go home and watch the game on our TV.

I made him stay through the whole first half, and by the end of it he was in a very good mood. He spent the last 10 minutes telling everybody to "stay on their feet" and "get off of the ground." He got pretty upset when the Toluca "Goal-ollie" stopped the Earthquakes big chance at the end of the half...he yelled, "no Goal-ollie, you dont stop that ball!" This made the people around us laugh a lot, to which he said, "I so silly."

When we got back to the car, he asked if we could go to another soccer game! I said of course. He replied, "I love soccer, Dada." I teared up...

Early Sign Landon Will Be a Good Big Brother

Landon's imagination is really blossoming. One of his favorite things to do is to tell "stories"...eh, more like "story" as he really has one story line that he repeats with a few added details each time.

And, it goes a little something like this:

Landon: "Mama, I have a question"
(He says this when he has something to say. Note: it is rarely a question, usually just a statement.)
Me: "Tell Me!"
Landon: "Once-upon-a-time...there was a rocket ship...and it crashed us...and we be hurt"
(Imagine "onceuponatime" as one word, said very quickly, in a toddler's 'accent'...I will get this on video to capture its full cuteness)
Me: "Oh my goodness! That's scary! Landon, are you okay?"
Landon: "Yes, I'm ok. Mama, you okay?"
Me: "Yes, I'm good."
Landon: "Is the baby okay?"
Me (Through Tears): "Yes, buddy. The baby is okay"
