Landon Meets Payton

Last week we were lucky enough to meet little Payton Boes, the daughter of my high school best friend, Jess. Believe it or not, both of our babies were born on their DUE DATES (less than 5% of babies are born on their due dates)! Payton on Saturday, September 10th (9-10-11) and Landon on Sunday, October 2nd. They are only 22 days apart, but already so different!

It was SO cool to see the two of them interact, and watch one another! I can't wait to see how they grow and change as the months roll on. We're heading out to Arizona to see them in March (and catch a few Spring Training baseball games with friends). We'll be sure to post pics of their first baseball game!

Bye-Bye Baby (Weight)!

Today was a big day -- the "baby weight" is GONE! It took me 40 weeks of pregnancy to gain 40lbs (eek!), and I am happy to say that in just less than 16 weeks I've lost all 40lbs! I am really happy to be back at my pre-baby weight, and very eager to keep chipping away at the pounds. I feel good, have lots of energy, and am excited to get in better shape!

Here's to the next few months, and the next few pounds lost!

Happy Hollow

Sean had MLK Day off from work, so we decided to make use of the Happy Hollow annual passes my sister bought us when she was here!

I know Landon is young for a zoo / kiddie theme park, but he really enjoyed being outside! He napped in his stroller while Sean and I learned all about Lemurs, Capybaras, Squirrel Monkeys, and Jaguars. Once he woke up, we put him in the Baby Bjorn and checked out the rides & the farm animals. He smiled, "talked", and stared all afternoon. It was great to get out of the house together. Thanks for the passes, Haley & Tom! We will make good use of them this year for sure!

Let's Go Niners!

I like football, I always have. I think I have my Dad to thank for that.

Sean LOVES football.

This is one of the many reasons why our relationship "works".

A few years ago when Sean and I were dating, someone asked us if we enjoyed camping. We both gave an "eh" sort of answer ("eh" = don't love it, don't hate it, could definitely live without it). Later that day, Sean asked me, "Is it okay if we're not a camping family? I imagine us to be more of a tailgate family someday". He had me at "tailgate"!

We've been 49ers season ticket holders for 2 seasons now. I hadn't been to a game this season since before Landon was born...boy, I couldn't have picked a better game to return to! The 49ers played Drew Brees & the New Orleans Saints on Saturday in the NFC Divisional Playoff. It was THE best football game I've ever seen! I am so happy I got to go, and celebrate with Sean, Dan, and Carlene. BIG thanks to Dee Dee & Gary for watching Lil' Landon for us!

Christmas Travels

Landon didn't just have his first Christmas, he was lucky enough to celebrate his first FOUR Christmases with our awesome family around the country.

Landon had his first road trip, nicknamed the "Tour de California". We went from San Jose, to Arroyo Grande, to Lompoc, to Redondo Beach, to San Clemente, to Palmdale, then back to San Jose in just 5 days! Here are a few pics from our trip, and our visits with our California family & friends:

We celebrated our own small family Christmas a few days early at home...

...then boarded a plane in San Jose, on our way to Philadelphia to see my family:

Thank you to everyone who made time for us this holiday season. It was busy, but we are so happy to have had the chance to share Landon's first Christmas with so many of you!

Vegas: Go Big, and then Go Home!

My first night away from Landon was last Saturday night, in LAS VEGAS! I was lucky enough to get to help my good friend Kelli celebrate her 30th birthday in style! I was away from Sean and Landon for a total of 23 hours...and couldn't wait to see them at the airport on Sunday afternoon!

I learned 2 things this trip:

#1 - I should always do Vegas in one night. There was no worry about needing to pace myself, or saving something for night 2...I flew in, partied hard until 6am, slept for 3hrs, then showered-up and headed back to the airport. I'm telling you -- one night is the way to go!

#2 - I couldn't have picked a better location for my "first night" away. Vegas is such a fun, and hugely distracting place...I didn't have much time to worry about (or miss) my boys. And, before I knew it, I was home again!
