Cohen's Six Month Check-Up

Cannot believe this little (big) guy is already 6 months old! We had his check-up with Dr. Barone a few weeks ago, and can't believe how much he's growing:

COHEN
Weight: 22.5lbs (99th)
Height: 28in (93rd)
Head: 46cm (99th)

For comparison sake, here were Landon's stats at 6mos:

LANDON
Weight: 18.6lbs (58th)
Length: 27.8in (78th)

Head Circumference: 18in (95th)

Here's what baby brother has been up to lately:

- Sitting up
- He cut two teeth!
- Eating: mommy's milk, rice cereal, sweet potatoes, carrots, and butternut squash
- He sleeps pretty well at night, sleeping through the night about half the time, waking up to eat once per night the rest of the time
- Daycare: he's been in the infant room at Bright Horizons for about a month now, and has adjusted really well! Considering he wouldn't take a bottle for the first few days, and had trouble napping there at first...he's really come around! When I drop him off in the morning he is happy to see his teacher & friends, and eager to get down on the floor to explore the toys
- His favorite person in the world is definitely Landon. He reserves his best smiles and loudest laughs for big bro. It is absolutely adorable to watch them interact with each other

Bye Bye Baby Weight (Round Two)

It took longer than I thought, and longer than I'd like...but, finally the 40lbs I gained while pregnant with Cohen are finally gone! It took 16 weeks to lose it with Landon, and took 22 weeks for this big guy. I knew from the beginning that it felt like it was going to be tougher this time around, and it was.

At the beginning of January, with 12lbs left to lose, and only 5 weeks before I went back to work...I decided to try-out Baby Bootcamp. A group of Mamas (all with little ones ranging from newborn to preschool) get together 4 mornings a week in various locations (indoors & out) and pretty much get their butt kicked by Emma, mom of two, and certified personal trainer. The first class was TOUGH (let's be honest...I puked), but you know what? I went back the next day (and many days after that) and haven't puked since! 5 weeks of bootcamps and a whole lot of eating healthy later, the baby weight was gone right before I went back to work...whew!

I am really happy the pounds are off, and am eager to tackle the next few to lose.

Oh yeah, and the best part of BabyBootcamp...you bring your babies with you! Crying, nursing, changing diapers...all normal! Now that I am back to work, I can't join them for the morning workouts...but, I am working out on my own at home, and hope to rejoin them for an evening session once or twice a week, once we change our clocks!

Preschool Basketball Practice

Every Friday, Landon has "sports day" at school. Lionheart Fitness sends two coaches (Jason & Jamian) to his school to teach them different sports. They do 5 week sessions, and so far have covered: baseball (which Landon didn't like because the coach's whistle was too loud), soccer, and basketball. They just started field hockey, which should be fun since some of the boys are Sharks fans.

Before my maternity leave was up, Cohen and I visited school on sports day, and got to watch Lando and his buddies practice basketball! I was proud of how he listened to his coaches, followed instructions pretty well, and had a lot of fun with his friends. Kudos to Coach Jason and Coach Jamian -- they are patient, fun, and really good with preschool crazy! Here are some of my favorite shots:

Mama & Cohen Fly to Florida

In January, I decided to sneak in a trip to Florida to visit my family before heading back to work at the beginning of February. It was my first solo flight with a kid, and thankfully, Coey Bear took it easy on me, making the whole trip pretty quick and uneventful! It was so great to get to spend time with my family, but more importantly, for them to get to spend time with our newest, all alone. Coey had a taste of what life might be like as an only child: getting Papa & Loulee's undivided attention, back rubs by Loulee, lots of baths, and no one to share toys with!

In other news, the weeks leading up to this trip Cohen was a BOTTLE STRIKE. He refused to take a bottle, no matter who offered it (after taking at least one bottle a day since he was a few weeks old). Sean and I were super worried (given my return to work date was looming). After taking a few days off from trying, I offered him a bottle in Florida and somehow, miraculously he took it! Proud to say he's been taking them ever since, and transitioned to the infant room at school like a champ! Whew!

On the Field at Levi's Stadium

Team Greenwood started the new year off right with a morning of fun in the sun at Levi's stadium. For a few bucks, we got a "field pass" to picnic, run, kick, punt, and play on the field where the 49ers play. What a treat! Landon and his buddies had a blast, and I loved chasing after them trying to get photos.

Cohen's 4 Month Check-Up

Today we had Cohen's 4 month check-up with Dr. Barone. His weight gain has slowed a lot (thank goodness, or else he would weigh close to 30lbs by now!)...but he's still big, big, big!

Weight: 20lbs 6oz 99th Percentile
Height: 26.75in 97th Percentile
Head: 45cm 100th Percentile

In other news, Cohen rolled over (from back to belly) for the first time on his 4 month birthday (January 6th), in front of his friends at our Mommy-Baby class.
