Baby's First Thanksgiving

We happily hosted Thanksgiving Dinner this year. Sean cooked his biggest turkey ever (19lbs), Grandma & Grandpa Greenwood brought the honeybaked ham, and the rest of us tackled all of the sides! Landon
was great all day long...he survived a few outfit changes (he had to wear all of his Thanksgiving clothes!) and even gave us all a repeat rolling over performance.

It is hard to believe that Landon is already EIGHT weeks old! Time is flying by, but we are enjoying every  minute of it.

Landon Rolls Over!

On the night before Thanksgiving, Landon rolled over for the first time (twice)! On Thanksgiving, he did it again...and we caught it on video!!!

A Photo First: Landon's Furry Friend

Everyone wondered how Pismo would adjust to having a baby in the house. Since Landon came home, she has been curious, but has kept her distance. She likes to be in the same room as us (any time of day or night), and every now and then will approach Landon, smell his feet or his blanket, then nonchalantly walk away.

We've always said that Pismo is the coolest cat we've ever known...happy to report that that is still true :)

Yesterday, my cat and my camera happened to both be on my bed. I brought Landon into our room, laid him down next to Pismo, and this little piece of awesomeness happened. Enjoy the cuteness...I know I did!

Smiles, Smiles, and More Smiles

Landon is smiling more and more! My favorites:

- Early Morning Smiles: it's like he knows when its time to wake-up and start the day (sometime between 6:30 and 8:00am right now). We turn off his white-noise machine, open up the curtains & blinds, and start talking and singing to him. He knows it is no longer "ni-night" time, and is happy to get the chance to smile at us and talk back!

- Daddy Just Came Home From Work Smiles: more often than not, when Sean walks into the room (usually when he gets home from work each day), Landon gives him a huge smile! I've started having Sean start talking to him as soon as he walks in the door, and as he walks up the stairs. Landon hears him and starts looking around, as if he's saying, "I hear you DaDa...but where are YOU?"

- Mommy, You're So Silly Smiles: all it takes is a high-pitched squeak, a made-up song, or a big grin of my own to get little man to smile back!

- Middle of the Night Milk Drunk Smiles: these crack me up! After he's done eating, and burped a few times, I hold him so he can relax and start to fall back asleep. Before I put him back in the crib, he usually gives me what looks like a drunk, sloppy smile. It's know it is involuntary, but it is still pretty adorable because his eyes are closed, and the room is dark. I'd like to think it is his way of saying "thanks for getting up in the middle of the night to feed me, Mama!"

Here are a few smiles from the last few days!

New Video: Heads Up!

Here is a new video! Landon is working hard to hold his head up. When you carry him around the house, he wants to sit straight up, holding his head erect, looking all around! Here is with Sean on the couch, showing off his strong neck.

Landon's First Wedding

On Saturday, we attended Alison & Blake's Bay Area Wedding Reception! Landon did really well -- he slept through most of cocktail hour & lunch. As soon as the speeches started, and the room got quiet, he woke up wanting a diaper change and a bottle. Once the music & dancing started, Little Man came to life! He loved the lights, the loud music, and seemed to really to enjoy "dancing" with his Mom & Dad. We will try to give Landon rhythm...one dance at a time!

The party was awesome -- big thanks to Alison & Blake for including us, since we couldn't attend their wedding fiesta in Mexico a few weeks ago.

Landon wore a collared, button-up onesie and his first pair of khaki cargo pants!

Tummy Time!

Little man is learning how to hold his head up. He's doing pretty well with the help of a pillow, so I think it is time to start putting him flat on his belly.

I was so surprised with how high he was holding his head this week, that I snapped as many photos as I could on my cell phone (so I could show Sean when he got home from work). Enjoy!

I CANNOT believe how fast he is growing, and how quickly he changes. He is already so different from the skinny little newborn we brought home from the hospital one month ago!

Landon Visits Google

On Landon's "one-month" birthday, we went to Google to meet my teammates for lunch. They were all eager to meet him, and visit with me. He was a good boy: he didn't cry, let me change his diaper on one of the colorful couches, and let me feed him a bottle at my desk (that was a really weird feeling). Everyone loved him -- most people commented on his full head of hair, big feet, long toes, and pretty blue eyes.

As most of you know, I love my job and Google. I've been there over 7 years, and honestly see myself there for many years to come. When I started there back in 2004, I was so impressed with the benefits and perks, even the generous maternity leave caught my attention (when I was 21, single, and living paycheck to paycheck)! I remember thinking that I would love to be able to take advantage of Google's fantastic maternity leave & perks someday...

...little did I know that a year later Sean and I would start dating, a few years after that we'd get married, and just two more years after that, I'd be Landon's Mom...and enjoying what has to be one of the best maternity leaves in the country.

Thanks, Google. I promise I'll be back at my desk (doing "real" work, not feeding my son a bottle) in 2012!

4 Week Check-Up

Landon had his 4 week check-up on Halloween. Dr. Barone was dressed as a butterfly (totally cute)! Landon wore the "My 1st Halloween" sleeper that Auntie Nicole bought him! Our boy is "perfect" according to his pediatrician -- healthy weight, growing well, and developing nicely. We are so lucky to have such a healthy and happy baby boy!
