Our Vacation to New England

We just got back from a whirlwind vacation to Boston & Maine! We arrived in Boston on Tuesday night, just in time to rent our car, check-in to our hotel, and crash for the night! Wednesday we met up with James & Lee (the Bride & Groom) for the 'Complimentary James Trettin Historic Boston Walking Tour Established in 2012'. They showed us so much of Boston...the Public Gardens, Boston Commons, Faneuil Hall, Paul Revere's gravestone, and the Mike's Pastry shop (famous for its delicious cannolis). Landon took his first trip on the subway, and seemed to enjoy the hustle-bustle of a big, busy city.

On Wednesday night, we met up with Dan & Carlene, JT & Elena, and got to see the Red Sox play at Fenway. What an experience! Sean joked that it took him 30 years to see his first game at Fenway, and Landon made it before his first birthday!

Thursday we took the subway across the river to check out Harvard! We toured around, bought some souvenirs, had lunch...then it was time to pack up the car, pick up Nicole & Matthew from the airport, and head up to Maine!

We rented a huge house in Maine, just a block from the beach. It housed us & all of Sean's friends, and was the perfect place to host the after-parties each night!

Friday night's rehearsal dinner was one to remember! It was held in a tent just steps away from the beach. For the first hour or two, we braved an intense thunderstorm, but it didn't at all dampen the mood & fun! We experienced our first ever authentic New England lobster bake -- and had a blast figuring out how to dismantle the lobster!

Saturday was the big day for James & Lee! I don't know if I have ever been to a wedding in a more picturesque spot! It was a beautiful day, and an awesome party. I served double-duty that day as wedding guest and reception photographer. I'm really excited to select & edit the best shots from their big day...but in the mean time, here's a sneak peak at the (unedited) fun we had!

To see the best shots from Boston, the Lobster Bake Rehearsal Dinner & After Party, the Wedding Ceremony & Reception, and Landon's First Dip in the Atlantic Ocean:

Dada's 30th Birthday at the Beach

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday, Mama and I took Dada to the beach for his 30th Birthday. I've heard about the beach, and how cool it is FOREVER...but this was my first time going ("over the hill" as Mama called it) to see the ocean.

When we first got there it was really, really bright. Sunshine, sparkly water, light sand...I could barely see! Mama tried to give me my sunglasses, but I just took them off. Once she finally found the hat that Loulee & Papa bought me, I was cool.

They took me down to the water, where the waves were crashing and people were playing. Dada held me and let me put my feet in the freezing cold water...I LOVED IT! Mama was so distracted by trying to take pictures, and get video (what else is new) that she dropped my sunglasses in the water, and the waves took them out to sea. Mama said something about how that's not surprising, that all of the Hartmans have lost at least one pair of sunglasses in the ocean...and that she was just shocked that it happened to me on my first trip!

I am such a lucky baby to live so close to the ocean, and I sure hope Mama & Dada take me back there. I want to build sand castles, get an ice cream cone, learn to boogie board someday!

Oh, and Dada had a good 30th birthday with all of his friends. Mama and I did good :)

Love,
Lil' Landon

PS. I'm eight months old now, and am getting my 3rd tooth. I've gained 3lbs in the last month, Mama says I am going through a "growth spurt".
