Baby Furniture!

I guess it's my turn (Sean) to chime in on this whole blog-thing. Stace has updated a couple of times now, so it's definitely time to hear from the other future parent of this grouping! I'm very excited about becoming a dad. Being the oldest of six, I think that I've been practicing for this life change most of my life.

Sitting here about to start week 24 of our first pregnancy, the biggest question and first from almost everyone when I talk about becoming a father is "what are you having, boy or girl?" I think that it's pretty cool and very exciting for us not to be finding out. With Stace being heavily entrenched in the "I want a girl" camp, it would be very easy for me to get on the "I want a boy" train. I, however, am trying to stay as neutral as possible. If I had to guess, I would say that we're having a girl just because most of our friends and family have had or are having boys. Staying true to my logical self, I know that the numbers have to even our eventually. We'll see on the day...

On to the reason of this post...Baby G's furniture was delivered yesterday. We got the crib and the double dresser. Here's some pictures:

I think that it looks pretty awesome if I do say so myself. We have some fancy swivel rocking chair coming in the next couple of weeks. That will pretty much finish off the big stuff for the room.

I guess that will be enough of my rambling. I'm hoping to get better at this blogging stuff as more time passes.

The Progression So Far...

For some reason, I always thought that a pregnant woman's belly grew from Week 1 through Week 40. I never realized that all of the growing really happens in the last half of pregnancy. At 18 weeks, I was still wearing all of my same clothes, sporting a little beer belly. Practically overnight, the maternity jeans went on and the belly started to take shape. Nowadays, I am convinced that it grows a little bit each night when I am asleep because I wake up feeling a little more pregnant than the day before! Here's a look at my belly...weeks 18, 20, and 24!

Is it okay to say your baby is cute?

They say that mothers know what they are having...like a sixth sense or something. Everyone asks me, "What do you think it is?" as if I have some very special expectant mom powers. I don't know what I am having...but early on, if I had to guess, I would have guessed that I was having a boy. Not sure why, just a "feeling" I had.

Then, we had our 20week ultrasound. Our ultrasound tech was able to capture one of the clearest profile shots I've seen of an unborn baby, and I immediately fell in love. I also, changed my vote. One good look at the adorable profile below sent me to the "I think it is a girl" side in an instant. I know Baby Boys can be really cute too, but for some reason that adorable little nose and lips makes me think we are having a Baby Girl.

What do YOU think we are having?
