Tour de Northwest: Boise

Our Tour de Northwest began with a visit to Team Johnson in Boise, Idaho! Here's the Top 10 List from our weekend in Boise!

1. MEETING GRADY!
This little man is a ball of energy. He, like Landon, doesn't sit still! He's a great eater (seriously ate more fruit in one day that Landon has eaten in the last month), loves fuzzy books, and can't get enough of his furry sister, Bella!

2. LANDON & GRADY'S FIRST RODEO
The Saturday night we were there happened to be the night of the Annual Eagle Rodeo! We loaded up, took the kids, had a beer, and enjoyed some fun entertainment in the hot, Boise sun! We got to see a pretty impressive troop of women on horseback with American flags perform, and then got to see some "Mutton-Bustin'" action! Mutton-bustin' is small children riding sheep like grown men ride bulls! Some, as young as THREE years old, strapped on their bike helmets, pulled up their cowboy boots, and bravely road those sheep 'til they fell off. It was incredible...and so much fun!

3. THE JOHNSON FAMILY RESORT & SPA
Chris and Ali have such an incredibly beautiful home. It's new & big, and has one of the best looking yards I've ever seen! Just a few weeks ago they completed the work on their brand-new pool & spa (what timing, right!?). We had so much fun splashing in the pool. Landon loved "1, 2, 3...jumping" into the water and throwing water toys for Sean to go fetch!

4. VISITING GREENWOODS SKI HAUS
Too bad they are closed for the Summer! We'll be placing our order for mugs, t-shirts, & keychains for this Winter!

5. FATHER'S DAY BRUNCH
On Sunday morning, we got to celebrate Father's Day (Chris' first!) with a yummy brunch near the river in Eagle. Afterwards, we made our way down to the water to take a few family photos (of course)! Notice Grady & Landon's matching outfits...thanks, Auntie Ali!

6. WATCHING GRADY WALK!
Not only did we get to meet Grady before his first birthday, but we also got to see him WALK! What a big boy, who's on the move....all. the. time!

7. SEEING THESE 2 AWESOME DADS WITH THEIR SONS
Ali and I could not do what we do, without these awesome men in our lives! They change diapers, put babies to bed, do laundry, wash dishes, and just love their sons to pieces! It was awesome to get to celebrate Father's day together this year! Keep up the good work, Chris & Sean!

8. BOISE ZOO
On Saturday, we toured the entire Boise Zoo! It was just the right size, with plenty to see & do! Landon loved the zebras, the giraffe slide, and of course the petting zoo.

9. GRADY LOVES GOATS
One of the absolute highlights for me was watching Grady with the goats at the Boise Zoo. He could stand there, petting the goats, and pulling their ears ALL DAY if you'd let him! It was too cute!

10. SPENDING TIME WITH GREAT FRIENDS...WHO ARE REALLY MORE LIKE FAMILY
Chris, Ali, Grady, & Bella: thank you so much for welcoming us into your home, feeding us, showing us the sights, and being so awesome! We love you guys, are so happy for you, and can't wait to see you in the Bay Area in September!

Video: Boise Fountain Fun

I have 3 big fun blog posts coming soon with pics & stories from our Tour de Northwest, but in the meantime wanted to share this short video clip from our first few hours in Boise.

Landon danced around this fountain for 30mins or so before finally getting brave enough to go for it, and touch the water. What a cutie!

Showering Kate!

A few Saturdays ago, Allegra, Elizabeth, Jaime, Jess, and I had the honor of hosting Kate's Bridal Shower! K1 is one of my closest & dearest friends, and am so incredibly happy for her, and can't wait to stand by her side in September in the Santa Clara Mission church when she and Vince make it official!

The shower didn't have a "theme" per se, but rather we took inspiration from the cute invitations we found. Allegra & her Mom made some incredible tissue puffs that brightened up my backyard, and definitely set the scene for a fun, festive event. The lunch menu was delicious, with lots of 'cool' options for our hot summer day. After appetizers, drinks, lunch, and games, we headed inside (thank goodness for air-conditioning) to open gifts and have dessert!

Katie was showered with lots of love, and plenty of awesome gifts! Thanks to everyone who helped make this day special for our very special friend! We all love you, Kate!

20 Months of Awesome

Time flies when you're having fun. It also flies when you have a kid. The last 20 months have been full of awesome, thanks to this little man.

Sean and I are stoked to be wrapping up a busy week at work, and to start packing for our 10 day vacation to Idaho, Montana, and Washington! Northwest...here we come!

"Happy Birthday Dada"

A few weeks ago, Landon surprised me on Mother's Day by figuring out how to say his longest sentence to date: "I love you Mama". Today, he delivered once again by saying a very clear, "Happy Birthday Dada".

On Saturday night, we celebrated Sean's 31st birthday with friends & family with a backyard movie night! I was so happy to host this fun party for my husband, and so thrilled to share it with his closest friends & family! Pops flew up for the weekend to help us celebrate...Landon loved spending more time with his Grandpa! Before long he was wandering around the house saying "Pops...are you?" (His was of saying, "where are you?"). Adorable.
